It has been sometime since the last log entry.

The lives we live are seas of uncertainty that we have to navigate through using prior experience. It is said the weathering of the soul builds character. I can't say. Over the past years since I started this blog, and then seemingly left my log book like some debris adrift, much has happened. I haven't brought you up to speed, because I haven't had time to synthesize it. It has been a whirlwind of shifts and changes, of gains and some very painful losses.

I am alone here, on Blogspot, mostly now.
This is good. Few know me.
I can share things I feel, not conclude. I can be wrong. It's not always about the destination; it's about the journey. Not where it takes us, but what we take from it.

14th Annual Midsummer's Moot

Birch run, June 21st, the sight and date of the Fourteenth annual Mid-Summer's Moot took place. It was the first moot I did not spend the night at. I brought potatoe salad (mustard) and onions and potatoes for the friendship soup.

To compare it to previous moots, it was much more like a festival, completely with a vendor trailer, tables with goodies waiting for auction, and games and competitive events like Archery, Axe Throwing, Tug of War, and other fun activities. As for organization, it was probably the BEST executed and structered Moot, and everyone seemed to have fun.

The weather was kind this year, the turn out was very large, and it was a great chance to meet some friends. To be honest, those I thought might have problems with me, were VERY kind and polite. Even though I didn't show it at the time, those small gestures and greetings meant a lot to me. All in all, I call it a success, but that's only because, despite all the challenges I expected to face this year at Moot, I enjoyed my time, and the company.

It was good to see Mr. Nance, and meet another gentleman who is going to be running for political office this next election in Michigan. All the usual suspects were present, save a few, and some old usual suspects that came back to see to their fading reputations as the "usual suspected".

New Schedule for 2009

Many of my online friends are not aware of the reasons I am either not online, or online but not in the areas they are used to seeing me.

Some of these people are simply not worth me explaining my entire schedule, it's reasons, and all the priorities I have over and over and over too, but there are some friends who are worth that explanation easily, and deserve it.

In any event, to simplify both, and taking a page from Frank62281, I'm going to lay out both my schedule (work and school) and my list of objectives and things I must get done. This list will be updated, and as long as there are no overdue deadlines, and I am not otherwise engaged, it is likely you can ask for my time and get it.

So, here goes.

School:
Monday:
2pm - 8pm: School includes my Networking classes both Windows and Advanced Novell, and my Algebra 2.

Tuesday:
Nothing scheduled for the day, but I DO need to get my homework done.

Wensday:
10am - 8pm: School, including my Public speaking class and my Algebra 2 again. I may come home between these classes, as I have a significant bit of time between them, then again, I may not. You will most likely catch me on Trillian if you catch me at all on this day.
9pm - 10pm: I will leave for Rochester Hills, MI, at this time. I have to drive 120-140 miles, usually an 1.5-2 hour trip, in order to be available for work the next day.

Thursday:
8am-4-5pm: Work at ADS.
5pm onwards: I do not know, I am not at home, I shall use this time to get homework done, and possibly work in SL, or play in SL.

Friday:
8am-4-5pm: Work at ADS.
5pm onwards: I shall be returning home, another 140 mile drive for 1-2 hours, taking longer depending on weather, and I may delay my departure until 7pm to avoid the vicious Detroit and Troy Northbound rush hour traffic.

Saturday: Day off
All day, I shall engage in house cleaning, recreation, and time with the family. This is the time that shall most likely include my online contacts and time with them.

Sunday: Day off
All day, I shall engage in house cleaning, recreation, and time with the family. This is the time that I shall most likely allow for religious mediation and ceremony, if I decide to practice any that week.

Duties and Deadlines (Love to watch those fly by)
Family:
This is a constant duty, and takes precedence over ALL other deadlines, and often is another reason that a duty or deadline is important. Though I can reschedule time with family to make up for promises and such, I am loathe to do this too often, as they are most important to me, but that's only true so long as I act in that regard/manner.
RL Related Deadlines:
Housework: February we need to have the house clean for visitation by Michael.
Writing Deadlines:
I have a selection of things I must write, including fiction for the ECG, and school work that has to be done over the course of the next three months. I also have to write up a proposal for scripting/meter use for the Roleplay Collective in SL, and finish writing up a great deal of policy and plans for the D² sim in SL.
Other Deadlines:
I have to finish scripting the disk launchers and avatars for D². The deadline for this was January 1st. I am behind.

I shall update this as things become known, remembered, completed, or change.

I hope this helps.

P.S.: Sometimes, I just need time away from people, all people, to do something numb and mindless, partially due to stress, partially because I need to get away from "myself" so to speak and absorb myself in something. These are not scheduled, but shall usually not interfere with my IRL or online responsibilities, schedules, or promises.

Independance Day

There are very few days where I feel I am free of my innate cynicism about, well, everything.

But today is one of those days. I feel free just to appreciate being an American. I don't know what it is, but on this day, I can let go of all the resentment, anger, and frustration I feel with my government, my society, and those in it. Even though many people probably are only looking forward to fireworks, beers, and a party, for me, this is a great day. It was the founding day of a great nation. My nation. Yes, I'm biased. But that doesn't make me wrong either.

July 4th, Independance day. Where we celebrate our freedom by making things explode. Bright color and noise and food. There is friendship, revelry, remembrance, and appreciation for everyone who has contributed to our nation's existance as a sovereign state that holds the beliefs it does. Even if it is all just propoganda and smoke and mirrors now, even if that is true... today I can ignore it. Today I can just be happy with the ideal. I can really believe it will someday come true.

So this day is very important to me. It is like a sabbatical. In a way, it is a personal holy day.

Now it is coming to a close, and I'm going to bed. I have had nay a drop of liquor nor a swig of beer. Tomorrow I return home in a borrowed vehicle, and I have also aquired a washer and dryer for my home.

Things are tight financially. Due to the recent car repairs of both my vehicles. Rent is overdue, but will be paid soon. Still, I'm late. And Ronin turns three next month, and I don't know what kind of party I can throw for her.

But today, I'm just content and at peace. That's okay, right?

Happy Independance day!
Happy Insurrection day!
Happy 4th!

More than Meets the Eye

Transformers the Movie.

Good or bad?

What is your critique of the film. Did you like it, what did you like about it? Did you hate it, what did you hate about it?

Or give both.

My own critique will be coming up soon.

For the logbook.

Well, it has been an interesting and eventful past few days, though only now is it starting to turn productive.

V.O.I.C.E., the company I was considering working for, has told me finally they went with another applicant. Awaiting their leisure to tell me if I was hired or not took up most of the 21st, and this meant that I ended up at Moot late.

Moot was smaller than I remembered it ever being this year. This June 21st marked the 8th annual Midsummer's Moot. What it lacked in quantity of its membership, it more than made up for in quality.

There was considerable drinking, food, and socializing to be had for all.

I have put in my FAFSA application and applied at Delta College for Network Technician. I have also applied to Delta College.

Finally, I've committed myself to finishing my first Novel this year. And at least two other short stories.

I am considering the Border Patrol as a new job possibility.

There is a lot going on, and I'm trying to stay on top of it. Now I must go and continue my documentation work to get continue financing my other ventures and buy the neccessities for the crew.

We've charted several courses, and now it's just a matter of which one turns out to be the most promising, which way the wind favors us.

The Death of MuaD'ib

Tonight my friend called me at around midnight.

He had left his house for no more than twenty to forty minutes.

When he returned home, he went down to feed the bunnies, and they were dead. The latch was open, and at least one has a broken neck. He had two. Mad Max and MuaD'ib.

Someone entered his home, and killed his pets. And the police are saying there is nothing they can do. What the hell do we pay them for anyways.

I'm deeply disturbed by this act towards my good and true friend. This was not a random act. My friend is sleeping with his pistol tonight, and his bedmate is loaded. I cannot blame him.

I am very disturbed about this.

There is little else I can say beyond this.
