14th Annual Midsummer's Moot

Birch run, June 21st, the sight and date of the Fourteenth annual Mid-Summer's Moot took place. It was the first moot I did not spend the night at. I brought potatoe salad (mustard) and onions and potatoes for the friendship soup.

To compare it to previous moots, it was much more like a festival, completely with a vendor trailer, tables with goodies waiting for auction, and games and competitive events like Archery, Axe Throwing, Tug of War, and other fun activities. As for organization, it was probably the BEST executed and structered Moot, and everyone seemed to have fun.

The weather was kind this year, the turn out was very large, and it was a great chance to meet some friends. To be honest, those I thought might have problems with me, were VERY kind and polite. Even though I didn't show it at the time, those small gestures and greetings meant a lot to me. All in all, I call it a success, but that's only because, despite all the challenges I expected to face this year at Moot, I enjoyed my time, and the company.

It was good to see Mr. Nance, and meet another gentleman who is going to be running for political office this next election in Michigan. All the usual suspects were present, save a few, and some old usual suspects that came back to see to their fading reputations as the "usual suspected".

New Schedule for 2009

Many of my online friends are not aware of the reasons I am either not online, or online but not in the areas they are used to seeing me.

Some of these people are simply not worth me explaining my entire schedule, it's reasons, and all the priorities I have over and over and over too, but there are some friends who are worth that explanation easily, and deserve it.

In any event, to simplify both, and taking a page from Frank62281, I'm going to lay out both my schedule (work and school) and my list of objectives and things I must get done. This list will be updated, and as long as there are no overdue deadlines, and I am not otherwise engaged, it is likely you can ask for my time and get it.

So, here goes.

School:
Monday:
2pm - 8pm: School includes my Networking classes both Windows and Advanced Novell, and my Algebra 2.

Tuesday:
Nothing scheduled for the day, but I DO need to get my homework done.

Wensday:
10am - 8pm: School, including my Public speaking class and my Algebra 2 again. I may come home between these classes, as I have a significant bit of time between them, then again, I may not. You will most likely catch me on Trillian if you catch me at all on this day.
9pm - 10pm: I will leave for Rochester Hills, MI, at this time. I have to drive 120-140 miles, usually an 1.5-2 hour trip, in order to be available for work the next day.

Thursday:
8am-4-5pm: Work at ADS.
5pm onwards: I do not know, I am not at home, I shall use this time to get homework done, and possibly work in SL, or play in SL.

Friday:
8am-4-5pm: Work at ADS.
5pm onwards: I shall be returning home, another 140 mile drive for 1-2 hours, taking longer depending on weather, and I may delay my departure until 7pm to avoid the vicious Detroit and Troy Northbound rush hour traffic.

Saturday: Day off
All day, I shall engage in house cleaning, recreation, and time with the family. This is the time that shall most likely include my online contacts and time with them.

Sunday: Day off
All day, I shall engage in house cleaning, recreation, and time with the family. This is the time that I shall most likely allow for religious mediation and ceremony, if I decide to practice any that week.

Duties and Deadlines (Love to watch those fly by)
Family:
This is a constant duty, and takes precedence over ALL other deadlines, and often is another reason that a duty or deadline is important. Though I can reschedule time with family to make up for promises and such, I am loathe to do this too often, as they are most important to me, but that's only true so long as I act in that regard/manner.
RL Related Deadlines:
Housework: February we need to have the house clean for visitation by Michael.
Writing Deadlines:
I have a selection of things I must write, including fiction for the ECG, and school work that has to be done over the course of the next three months. I also have to write up a proposal for scripting/meter use for the Roleplay Collective in SL, and finish writing up a great deal of policy and plans for the D² sim in SL.
Other Deadlines:
I have to finish scripting the disk launchers and avatars for D². The deadline for this was January 1st. I am behind.

I shall update this as things become known, remembered, completed, or change.

I hope this helps.

P.S.: Sometimes, I just need time away from people, all people, to do something numb and mindless, partially due to stress, partially because I need to get away from "myself" so to speak and absorb myself in something. These are not scheduled, but shall usually not interfere with my IRL or online responsibilities, schedules, or promises.
